I'm trying to get a Microsoft LifeCam VX-6000 working on a Sahara
slate PC running Windows XP SP2. I downloaded the drivers and software
from http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/digitalcommunications/downloads/
however I have hit a problem. The Sahara is a slate PC and so runs in
portrait mode, i.e. at 768 x 1024 resolution and 32 bit color quality.
When I start the LifeCam software I get the error:
The program will not start unless the screen resolution and color
quality meet the minimum requirements. Right-click in the desktop,
click Properties, and then click the Settings tab. Change the screen
resolution to at least 800 by 600 pixels and the Color quality to at
least 16 bit
How do I tell the camera that I'm in portrait mode and do have
sufficient resolution set? Note that it works fine in landscape mode,
even if I switch from landscape to portrait after the LifeCam software
has started successfully. But I'm writing an application using the
LifeCam that must auto-start in portrait mode. Any ideas how to fix
this gratefully received.
Cheers,
Tim.
