Hi anyone still here,

I dug out my old Ipaq recently and for some reason it wont run many of
the programs that it used to, specifically Co-Pilot; it now says that
the OS is the wrong version. All I have is a copy of ver 2002 but it
says 2003 is the min required. Its got me stumped.

Does anyone know where I can get a copy of ppc2003 any more?

Thanks

This group is primarily for the mostly obsolete platform called
Handheld PC. Questions about Pocket PCs, like your iPAQ, are far more
likely to get useful answers if asked in a group for Pocket PCs. Such
as microsoft.public.pocketpc. More below (in line)

I don't understand how a copy of a program that used to work no longer
doesn't. My hunch is that you actually have a newer version of
Co-Pilot. See whether you can find the original version that actually
worked with our iPAQ.

Upgrades for the Windows CE operating system, and platforms (like PPC
2003) are entirely up to the OEM (original equipment manufacturer) and
most of the cell phone carriers (Verizon, etc.). For your iPAQ that
means Compaq/HP. If you can't get a copy from them, you can't get a
legal copy. Some non-legal upgrades are very good; even better than
the original. Some are very bad. And an incorrect installation of even
a good version can make your device useless. You can try using google
to look for upgrades. Try searching for
ipaq xxxx upgrade
where "xxxx" is the model number.
