when i try to logout from GP it says
"Processes are currently being run that cannot be deleted. These processes
must be run to completion before you exit"

Anybody knows what exactly is the problem. I have no processes running.

thanks

You'd generally get this message if you try and exit from great plains
before all processes have initialized.
Have you used Process Monitor Window (File >> Process Monitor) to
make sure no process is running?
At start up, GP runs some background processes, these processes are
automatically completed after some time and user is allowed to
logout.
This windows allows to you to remove some of the processes too.

i checked the process monitor and could see the following entries in the list

Updating Home Page(1)
Updating Menus(1)
CheckIfRepiortNeedToBePublished(1)

But i have no clues on how to stop this.

JayKay, some processes can be suspended or removed (see the buttons on
the right side of the Process Monitor). Others must be let run until
they have completed.

Have your processes completed yet?

JayKay, you should contact your VAR or GP support. There's a
KnowledgeBase article out there that details the resolution for this
but it is a GP Partner Only article.

It will require someone to perform maintenance at the SQL level.

For now, you could use CTRL-ALT-DEL and End Task to end the GP session
and then log back in as a different user.

Hope this helps,

Frank

The items you listed below are trying to update when you log onto Great
Plains. So essentially the list has been updating in the background since
you logged on. I have found out that if you remove the "reminders" from an
individual's security it will process the updates. To remove the "reminders"
open the security setup and choose:
Product: Microsoft Dynamics GP
Type: Windows
Series: System
Find the "reminders" and double-click to remove the asterisks.

Hope this helps, rc
