Is there any way that we can have the Actual Ship date default to the
Invoice date at the time the order is transferred to an invoice?
We're trying to get a SmartList that shows (by item) Order Date AND Actual
Ship Date/Invoice Date. Is this possible some other way without SmartList
Builder?

Not without a customization.

You should be able to do this with the standard Sales Line Items
SmartList. The Order Date and Actual Ship Date fields are available
to add.

If you do not allocate on the Order, then the Actual Ship date field will
inherit the the date from the date you transfer the order to an invoice -
because the item is fulfilled on the transfer (depending on your settings on
the invoice id).
If you use line item allocation on the Order (which is the default) then the
'Actual Ship Date' field will update based on the allocation/fulfillment date
on the Order. So, if you want the Actual Ship Date to default to the date you
transfer the document to an invoice you are going to have to change how you
allocate and/or fulfull your orders.
If you want to allocate the inventory at the order point, but you do not
want to 'fulfill' the order until you transfer it to an invoice, then you
need to use a separate fulfillment process. Otherwise the 'actual ship date'
will be based on the fulfillment date of the order.
If you just accept the GP defaults you cannot get what you want. However,
the SOP settings will get you exactly what you want if I understand the
question. If this is unclear, please feel free to call me (972-814-8550) and
we can discuss it 'in person'.
Kind regards,
Leslie
