Going into GP I am going into the Alternate/Modified Forms and Reports and I
select the ID. I then select the product Microsoft Dynamics GP and it never
populates the links.

I am running this directly from the server since one of the clients is
actually having a different issue. Specs are Windows 2000 and the initial
problem we were trying to fix was described as: "There is also an error when
I go to get into bank reconciliation, because when I was in there about two
months ago my computer crashed. It is saying to use Check Links window to
check links on the Cm Logical files. "

And by "links" should we understand your modified forms and reports? If this
is the case, then this workstation may not be pointing to the correct
forms/reports dictionaries. Check the settings by editing your DYNAMICS.SET
file and looking at the path for the FORMS.DIC and REPORTS.DIC files. If the
path is incorrect, change it accordingly with the actual location of the
files.

As for the issue with the client, backup your DYNAMICS and company
databases, and run the Check Links as suggested by the application.

If you are not comfortable with any of the above suggestions, please email
me to discuss more options. Use the contact information below.

Also I should make note that other fields still work.
The All Programs selection populates the folder choice.
Human Resources selection populates the folder choice.
Its only when I select Microsoft Dynamics GP that it doesnt ever fill in the
blank white space with anything.

Thanks for any help.

Yes, that is correct. We are actually missing the Form.dic file in the data
folder. The set file is pointing to it but it is missing. Is there a
location on the install cd or online to obtain that dictionary file?

Thanks,
Joel

Ok, now that you have identified that the FORMS.DIC dictionary file is
missing, the question is, does this happen on other workstations? Meaning, is
there a workstation where you can go to MSDGP >> Tools >> Setup >> System >>
Alternate/Modified Forms and Reports and get the results you expect to get
when you select Microsoft Dynamics GP from the product drop-down list. If you
can find such workstation, either:

a) copy the FORMS.DIC and/or REPORTS.DIC to the server, or

b) point the server to the path indicated in the DYNAMICS.SET file on the
working machine.
