Hi folks,

My daughter bought the two expansion packs for Zoo
Tycoon. Dino Digs works fine, but Marine Mania has
problems. It installs correctly, but when she tries to
play the game she is told that her DirectX version needs
to be upgraded to 8.0 or higher.

I have checked the version and it is 8.0. She is running
Windows XP Home. Can you give me some advise on how to
fix this problem. Please bear in mind that she lives in a
different location and does not have internet access.

Thanks for the help

Upgrading DirectX is a fine idea. The problem is that the
PC does not have internet access. Recently I have tried
downloading the directX, writing it to a cd and then
loading it on the stand alone machine. However, Windows
XP pops up a message saying that it can't find the Windows
XP logo (digital signature of some sort on the DirectX
file) and cancels the setup. This is even though the file
was downloaded from the Microsoft website.

Any other ideas?

Thanks

David

You can download the complete DirectX, burn it to a CD and send it to her
