The story so far:

I have had FSX on my comp for a while and played on it with no problems.
However yesterday I got the error that there was a problem with the
activation of the product. I tried to perform a repair but got an install
error. I then proceded to uninstall FSX and do a clean install. Everytime I
try to install the game I now get a 1603 error and can not install the game
at all. I have tried various installshield solutions with no effect.

My questions are: Why did I get the activation error and can anyone provide
a definative solution to the 1603 error.

I only know that the error has manifested itself during the past two weeks -
the last time I played the game. The only security updates have been for IE8
in that time and the only other install I have performed is to put Mafia on
the computer and install Indeo 5 to make the game work.
