Check the assignment and calibration settings in FS and Windows
control panel if you use a joystick...

luck. I have also disconnected, then reconnected
the "Microsoft Forceback 2" joy stick. I can actually
watch the spoilers on the right wing go down, and the left
ones go up??
At times aircraft on take off will go into a steep un
controllable climb, pushing the joy stick forward only
corrects the problem until you release pressure on
control, then off we go again.

What happens if you de-activate the joystick? Does it work fine with
other games? Do you also have another controller connected?

As it only happens with FS2002 delete the fs2002.cfg file in the
FS2002 folder, hope this helps...
