You can look for the specific error message here:

http://mvps.org/nibblesnbits/EnterRooms.html#zerrors

The Zone usually updates Zone.zat and all the files in the ZSetup
folder. Delete these files, then reenter the Zone for fresh copies.

Other recent updates:

Zone.exe, Zclient.exe, and Zonecli.dll

Also open Internet Properties, General tab, click Settings, View
Objects. There should be three Zone entries, HeartbeatCtl, and two that
mention the Zone in the name. If not, or if the Properties on one shows
that it's damaged, click Update to repair the control.

I did everything you told me and now when I go into programs my msn zone is
not there, but I can still access it all the way to the rooms with my
favorites. I still cannot get in the room; I do get a black screen for a
second saying downloading and it disappears and then the message close
browser comes up again.

A file was damaged during the download. Make sure any firewall, web
accelerator, and antivirus software is turned off during the install
process.

If you have WXP, remove the Zone from Add/Remove Programs, Windows
Components. Then reinstall.

With WinME and WinXP you can run System Restore and select an entry
point listed on a date before the problem first occurred.

My file was damaged. I went into control panel and objects and found the
file damaged and now it is repaired and I can enter the rooms again. Thanks
for your help.

Dear Mr. Elmo
My problem is another game: "Gamon". The problem resides in my Local Network
where in the server (who has the main access to Internet) the Zone Games
works perfectly, but in the client every time I try to play any game from
ZONE I get the message "It's not possible to access the games server" and
gives some possible causes like firewall,...". In the Local Network
properties there is no "checking" for firewall option.
I have a Proxy installed from "AnalogX" which share and gives access to the
Client in order to access Internet. It must to be activated in the server to
do that.
I'd appreciate your help.
Best regards
Clayton Rossi

I'm not really that knowledgeable on networks.. Look here for help, but
it's just a listing of MSKB articles including the wording "cannot
access server":

http://www.kbalertz.com/sresults.aspx?sw=cannot+access+server&st=1

These ports must be accessible:

Zone Ports
http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q159/0/31.asp

How to set up your router:
http://www3.sympatico.ca/nibblesnbits/PortRoute.html#howto

You'll probably need to talk to the administrator for help with the
ports. Here's a site that might help:

Troubleshooting
http://www.practicallynetworked.com/support/troubleshoot_index.htm

And here's a Google Groups search result that looked interesting:

I have been reading your problem & Elmo's replies, and I too have the same
problem (cant get in the bridge rooms). When I try to follow Elmo's
instructions, I can't even find what he mentions - e.g.Zone.zat. also, view
objects,no mention of \heartbeat, just bridge installed, and games installed.
I'm just a lady who wants to play bridge, not very tech. savvy - need
someone to walk me through this.

Excuse me for being in the wrong group, but at least it has BRIDGE in its
name.

I want to learn more bout Bridge and like to find a really good CD on
learning Bridge.

I have looked at Best Buy and others and it is always bundled with lots and
lots of other cardgames.

I have now an old version of Bridge by Bicyle and made for Windows 95 and
98. But it pesters me all the time, while I am thinking, with "it's your
move" and keeps on saying that until I move. Thinking is stopped by this
constant nagging. But I do want sound for other things.

Can any of you people help?

Thanks in advance.

I guess no one reads this newsgroup. Or no one cares to respond when it
comes to someone who would like to learn to play Bridge. Too bad.
