I'm using an ISP which doesn't support Frontpage Extentions. Is it still
possible for me to use frontpage in such a way that the results doen't make
use of the extentions? (Can I switch them off). I'm a novice web
sitebuilder and I'm getting
crazy using WORD to build my personal site.

You can use frontpage as an editor of word and pictures. The extensions give
to you the interactivity not web pages
