Hi Sithu

You mean for "Code-shareing", multiple programmmers working on the same
project? That' called "Source-Control" and VFP links to them via SCCAPI.
Thus all tools adhering to that interface can get used.

The official one from Microsoft is "Visual Sourcesafe", but VSS has a
longstanding reputation for beeing not very stable, error-prone, and slow as
molasses since it used hundredthousands of textfiles in thousands of
subdirectories for storage.

Best in my oppinion is VAULT from www.SourceGear.com . Uses MS SQL-Server
(even the free Express version is ok) as a storage, and is free for
singleusers. Sourcegear got famous with their product "SourceOffSite", which
is an AddOn to MS VisualSourcesafe for speeding up Remote Access to
SourceSafe.

Then there is a very interesting development going on over at
http://VFPX.CodePlex.Com for integrating SUBVERSION into VFP. SubVersion
itself is an OpenSource-project for SourceControl.

Over at www.Hentzenwerke.com, you can get a book (real or PDF) on using VFP
and Sourcecontrol "Essential Sourcesafe"
http://www.hentzenwerke.com/catalog/essvss.htm.

Regardless, which tool you finally use: make sure you have installed
scctextX.prg from vfpx.codeplex.com for interfacing with the provider
(instead of the "not so perfect" default scctext.prg from MS)

You should be aware that VSS is going away once TFS 2010 is released on
April 12.
