exe compiled in VFP 6.0 won't execute from within VFP8.0

I'm grateful for any assistance...

I have an EXE that was written and compiled by another developer in
VFP 6.0. I can run this EXE just fine, no worries. But I can't call
this EXE from within VFP8.0. In the command window in VFP8.0, I
type: DO [exename].exe. I hit return and nothing happens. It sorta
flashes at me, like it's trying to run, and then it immediately shuts
down.

I don't think the real problem has anything to do with the different
VFP versions. It's gotta be some environmental setting, but I don't
know enough about that stuff. Can anybody help me out? Where should
I be looking? What should I be looking for?

I build and compile my own EXEs in VFP 8.0, and I can call those from
within 8.0, no problem.

I think you can disregard this. I'm working on it myself, and I'm
making progress...
