How do u downgrade from xp pro to xp home. I completely formatted the hard
drive. When trying to install windows xp using the cd it i get an error
message as follows: Setup cannot find a version of windows installed on your
computer, To continue, setup needs to verify that you qualify to use this
upgrade product. Please insert one of the following windows product cd's into
the rom drive which is Windows XP Home Edition(Full Version). When the cd is
in the drive press enter.

Then it tells me that Setup could not read the cd you inserted, or the cd is
not a valid windows cd. It is valid and i know it works because i just used
it on another comp and reinstalled windows.

Can anyone help me with this?

you are using an 'upgrade' product and not a 'full version'.

can't help you much - as you've posted in the wrong place.

Alas, Oh Shim500 - you've posted yer Q in the wrong place.

This is a forum about Fox, FoxPro, and Visual FoxPro.

Look for a group back at the microsoft portal with 'windows' in the name.

Good Luck !!
