File Attributes Help

I'm curious if anyone has experienced the following behavior from vfp 6.0:

I'm noticing as I work with Visual FoxPro files (frx, dbf, fpt), that the
temporary file attribute is being set. I'm also noticing that this
attribute is sometimes removed from the file, but at times is not. This
posses a problem because the backup software I implement does not support
temporary files.

We're trying to implement vfp in a multi-user environment hosting the
database and application on a Windows 2000 Advanced Server. I'm seeing this
same behavior on NT 4.0 Terminal Server as well.

I realize that FoxPro is not the ideal solution, but sometimes these
decisions are beyond ones control.

I'm interested in hearing from anyone who has experienced similar type of
behavior.
