I am building an apllication that eventuallly will have to transfer its
datafiles through dailup. Need help with in coding a filetransfer program
in VFP6 that will communicate with my modem and start the file transfer in
VFP6 ?

If I assume dialup = DUN - then
you might want to look at the wwipstuff class put out by Rick Strahl over at
www.west-wind.com
He's encapsulated DUN and FTP quite nicely.
