My daughter was given her friend"s computer when she returned to China at the
end of her studies in Canada. The computer operates with Windows XP and all
the menus and dialog boxes are in Chinese. We have tried to change the
default language to English, but it does not work. There was no CD with the
computer as I think she bought it all loaded. I managed to access this site,
in English, however, the operating system is still displayed in Chinese. Is
there anything I can do to get the menus and dialog boxes in English?

Thanks if you can help me otherwise I will have to bring it to a computer
shop to have someone to fix it.

She's probably running the Chinese version of Windows.

You need to install (purchase) the English version to get your displays in
English.

You might also want to post in a Windows newsgroup. (Look for "Windows" in
the group's name.) This one is for Visual Foxpro.
