I would go to kontakt in standalone, then set the library location on external drive in prefs, then try loading something. Then in native access make sure your prefs for install is same place. Maybe install something new into that location to bless it.

Native instruments Kontakt 6.1.1 Win Mac

However, Kontakt 7 is shown as being installed in "Demo Mode" within Native Access, and when I access Kontakt 7 within Logic Pro, it indicates it is "License Type: Demo" ... I have followed every instruction on this page: -instruments.com/hc/en-us/articles/4402377887121-My-Products-Are-Showing-As-DEMO-in-Native-Access

I would like to add a note to indicate my support for an "uninstall" feature that automatically uninstalls a package via Native Access ... the process of manually deleting my Kontakt 7 Player files in order to install Kontakt 7 took me over three hours due to troubleshooting errors that happened along the way, missed files, looking for other solutions, etc ... next time I will be very thorough in following the "uninstall" instructions to delete every file ... but a lot of troubleshooting and pain could be avoided by having an official way to "uninstall" Applications, instruments, etc via Native Access rather than making the user do it themselves in an error-prone way.

I am using FL studio, and had almost no problem with my previous laptop. I encounter crashes with this new one whenever I use kontakt : crashes with no popup, the sound just glitches then no more sound. I tried to look online for some help, but couldn't find any.. Any idea how to fix this ? It's really bothering ..

-instruments.com/discussion/4346/fl-crashes-closes-when-using-kontakt here they talk about it being a problem from samsung ssds. I actually have my libraries on my samsung T5 external ssd, but i had 0 problems with my previous laptop so .. ?

it doesn't crash when i open a project, or when i add an instance of kontakt. It usually crashes when i'm playing my project. For example, my current project is composed of 2 Kontakt instances, one with strings ensemble, and the other one for Alicia's Keys. Alicia's Keys always crashes for some reasons..

So I tried to press a lot of keys to "force" a crash but the time it takes to crash is random. Until now I didn't really pay attention to which instrument in kontakt made it crash, but for this current project it looks like only Alicia's Keys is crashing while string ensemble isn't crashing at all. I indeed have my samples on a samsung T5 ssd, and I use a usb-C cable.

But the 'ASIO Buffer Size' for your 'Komplete Audio 2' is far to high. The driver would have set it much lower than that when installed. From my experience with it set that high you will have an unusable delay when playing instruments with your keyboard.

I see, so it doesn't come from my new laptop's settings I guess.. I try not to use kontakt for my new projects but that's a big handicap i would say, i hope there will be a fix soon. I was planning to update my K12U to K14U in the summer sales, i hope it'll be fixed by then ?.

We all know that the claim NI made about Kontakt 7 being HiDPI is absolute *****, because the only portion that is HiDPI is the new interface that they put on top of the old one. But when you choose an instrument, you go back to the old GUI, which is tiny and with poorly rendered fonts. Some instruments get around that by having a GUI that widens Kontakt and that helps.

But I don't understand how NI releases all these new instruments, many of which are just a couple of years old, and most people switched to 4K monitors like 5 years ago if not more. I had bought a really nice LG barebones 4k monitor in 2019 for $250, so it's safe to say that 4K hasn't been a luxury for the rich for many years now.

But then you have two other types of rendering in Kontakt. One is the typical aliased font that is part of the list of presets in the left pane, and in the GUI designed for that specific instrument. This font is sometimes readable, sometimes a pain depending on how big they decided to make it when creating the plugin. But if it's big enough, it's not terrible. And from this we also know that instruments in Kontakt are not constrained to the same width they used to be, which made this font hard to read.

So it seems to me that there isn't a technical barrier that means rewriting everything from scratch for HiDPI. If they were able to get menus with presets in there with a font that is obviously HiDPI, why not change the elements that are in the 1980's font first, and continue with making the GUI for each instrument HiDPI capable? At least the newest ones, especially the most expensive ones like Lores, the Symphony series, the Cremona Quartet, which is such an amazing feat to have a Stradivari violin from 1727 captured in the city where it was created, with such an attention to detail, played by musicians that had to be approved by the museum, where the mayor closed the area around the studio for traffic for like a month, and residents were told to avoid all loud noises. Such an amazing virtual instrument to keep the memory of those four instruments alive past the date where they will become unplayable.

So you have what is one of the best virtual instruments of all time, which at least to my ears sounds fantastic, much better than any other sampled violin solo or ensemble I have, and we're forced to use it in this lame GUI? I mean, this, and the rest of the Cremona Quartet, it deserved its own plugin engine designed from scratch! But, if you're going to use Kontakt, fine, just give me something bigger that doesn't strain my eyes. And don't make a brown background with text in dark beige! I mean, the thing doesn't even pass the industry standard for color contrast:

So I'm going to keep beating this horse to death until I can use the great virtual instruments and plugins that Native Instrument has with an inferior GUI from a decade ago, until somebody does something about it.

I'm not asking to rebuild all their software from scratch. I'm just saying, for now, do small things here and there to make life easier. For example, eliminate that stupid restriction in Komplete Kontrol that doesn't allow you to click and drag the bottom right corner or the edges to make the window larger, especially vertically, so you can see more presets and more instruments.

You know it's possible because it has some code to automatically enlarge it if you load certain instruments, or even load Kontakt and go into edit view. So this is not crazy talk. Enlarging the window is perfectly possible, they are just stubborn in not changing a bit of code, probably one of those things in code, I can't remember the name, it's not variable, it's when it's either true or false.

It turns out changing the settings for creating a new synth track fixes the problem. It's possible that I unknowingly changed this setting, as accidentally pressing the spacebar can toggle it, though I don't see why it should result in Kontakt instruments not loading, displaying and functioning properly.

The Kontakt version hasn't changed between the instruments working and not working. It seems that none of the NI synths I have installed are working, not just Kontakt. Synths from other companies are working fine.

Not that I am aware of. Regardless I would not have changed such a setting. The instruments stopped working in the middle of a session where they had been working fine. It was only after trying to load Session Guitarist Electric Mint (Melody) that everything stopped functioning. This instrument was stuck loading permanently and then from that point all other instruments had UI issues and no audio.

Please can someone help very new to Ni however I have a super fast gaming computer and only use it for music I have set in kontakt to assio and 44.1 and no matter what I do I get latency from the keyboard

So here's the thing. When I look at the "What's new in Kontakt 7" video, it talks about hi dpi and being able to resize things, like the "browser." But when it shows actual instruments, it usually looks like it is still the same old UI, with tiny type that is not scaled. At least it does not show the UI as being much different.

hey man i hope u see this, i know exactly what you guys are talking about and it was driving me crazy, i finally fixed it, try this broski. What i did was i installed ALL of my kontakt libraries on my external hard drive, after that i UNPLUGGED my external hard drive, went into windows apps and features, and deleted all of my kontakt libraries, after that plug in your external hard drive and your kontakt libraries should only be on your external drive, and not clogging up your windows C drive, hope this helps, take care
