Internet Explorer 8 cannot display the webpage

help on fixing my computer

Im having problems with my other laptop, it shows that the internet is
connected but when i open IE8 or Mozilla Firefox they both say that the
webpage cannot be displayed. I have tried to open them when i start in safe
mode and they work but dont seem to work when i start in the regular windows
mode. This just started happening all of a sudden yesterday afternoon. Is
there anything i can do to fix this problem?
