I got this announcement about the CS & IT symposium held in conjunction with
NECC again this year and thought I should share it. Yes, I’ll be there and
yes, I’ll be presenting. Anita Verno and I will be talking about
certifications in computer fields that students can work towards. It should
be a good event – all the previous ones have been.

More than half of the spots are already filled for the 2009 Computer Science
and Information Technology (CSIT) Symposium!

CSIT 09, CSTA’s annual conference for computer science and informational
technology teachers, will take place Saturday, June 27, 2009 at the
Renaissance Hotel in Washington, DC, in conjunction with NECC, the National
Educational Computing Conference.

This full-day event features concurrent and general sessions that focus on
critical issues, including:

· CS for all Students Using Differentiated Instruction

· Transitioning from Alice to Java

· Navigating the Professional Certification Maze

· SAS Programming for High Schools

· Engaging Students with Scratch Programming

· Using Game Maker to Motivate and Engage Students
