Not sure anyone visits this group anymore, but here goes.
If I update the odd page or picture and tell Expression to Publish NEW
files, it has taken to updating ALL my 4000+ files.
Anyone know why as it did not used to do this?

You must be "updating" a site template.

If it is an odd page, why don't use just upload that page only using a FTP client like FileZilla?

Please also note that Expression Web is no longer supported by Microsoft but I guess it doesn't matter if it still works on your machine!!  The alternatives are Microsoft VS Code or Visual Studio 2017  Community Edition.  Both are free to download and use but the learning curve might be steep for some people.  VS code is a text editor with Emmett and this makes creating websites much easier.  It is not WYSIWYG but these days there is no such thing as WYSIWYG.  People just code directly in a ext editor.

Thanks I solved the problem after lots of uninstalling and reinstalling
(including hidden files). That didn't work tho'.
Finally I deleted all my remote website and uploaded my local files, then I
deleted my local files and downloaded the remote ones to my pc.
That solved the problem by syncing the files.
If you do this don't forget to copy your files somewhere safe first.
If you haven't used Expression then you are missing out. It is pretty much
WYSIWYG once you tweak it (and I am using HTML5!)
I tried Dreamweaver, but prefer Expression and paid for it originally.
There is also KompoZer which I think is by the Mozilla team (Seamonkey has
something similar)
