Is it possible to safely import my FrontPage 2003 web into Microsoft
Expression Web 4? I'm now running Windows 7 Ultimate. My old XP
system died.

G7 expressed precisely :
1) Before using Eexpression Web 4 (EW4) on your
web, remove any shared borders that you may be
using - EW4 will trash any pages using shared
borders. This is described at
http://www.rxs-enterprises.org/fp/articles/2011/11/10/06/How_Expression_Web_4_treats_Shared_Borders.aspx
, with help to remove the borders in the related
pages.

2) Any .aspx pages created with FrontPage will
fail - FP uses .Net 1.4, whereas EW4 uses .Net 4
(but can use any version from .Net 2)

Other than the above, just open the website in
Expression Web and continue.

Some FrontPage components will not be editable
(but won't break) including:
Navigation, Database wizards (using .asp), some
Form bits.

To help move from FrontPage to Expression Web, go

I just made the upgrade from FP to EW and it was much easire than I thought.

What aided me was that I had taken the time to get all ,my documents
validated by W3C,

And there are some tutorials on Utube that were helpful.

Thanks for the encouragement. I have to master Expression or get a
good handle on it, before take down the old site.
