Hi,

Using EW3 on Windows 7 64 bit Professional. I'm trying to publish to an ftp
site and I've set up the Site, Publishing settings for ftp and have the
settings accurate as far as I can tell. When I click on "Connect to the
current publishing destination" link I get the following pop up:

"FTP transmits the user name and password without encryption. If possible,
open the site by using an HTTP URL to help protect it from potential network
attacks."

EW3 refuses to connect. I've searched the web with no hits for this message,
so my question is: how to get past this message and upload using ftp?

Many thanks,

--

Rod

One fix would be to use a 3rd Party FTP client. I think that IE 7/8 could
also do it. I know there is a Foxfire addon called "FireFTP" that I use.

Have you tried switching from active to passive ftp ?
Tools > Application options > FTP pane
Check or uncheck the box use Passive ftp.

Tom, Steve, Thanks for your input.

I tracked the problem down to my ISP having a different password for my ftp
than email account and they hadn't told me. I've just got access to it now.
Annoyingly it took 4 calls to the ISP before I got someone who knew this!@#!
