SDK Use + Directshow Dependancy

Hi Guys,

I'm looking at writing a server application that bulk transcodes files.

I'm assuming that all transcoding is dependant on the direshshow framework.
Can someone confim this please?

If this is the case, then I'm assuming that something needs to install the
correct directshow components onto the machine in order for any .NET
application using the SDK and being deployed to the server to work.

Am I going to have to install the dektop application on the server or does
the SDK only rely on Directshow to source the video and then use it's own
native engine in order to re-encode the files?
