I'm attempting to recover a VPs mailbox from a monthly backup made nearly a
year ago using ExMerge.
Conditions:
1. The backup was made using BackupExec 10.
2. The Exchange server at the time of the backup was 2003 and named
'Exchange1'.
3. We are now on Exchange 2007.
When I attempt to restore the mailbox using BackupExec12 to the new server
'Exchange2', it fails stating that a resource was unavailable. I figured
the issue was the fact that the old 2003 server was gone. So, I built up a
new Exchange 2003 server naming it 'Exchange1'. I was able to restore the
Information Store from the tape backup to a Recovery Storage Group. When I
run ExMerge to try and extract the user's mailbox to PST I receive the
following error:
"An error was encountered when retrieving the list of mailboxes homed in the
selected databases on server 'EXCHANGE1'. Please refer to the log file,
'ExMerge.log', for more information."
The ExMerge.log file displays the following:
****************************************************************

I researched the error "Error 8007203a opening an LDAP connection." online
and came to the following article:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/323546
I followed the steps but to no avail.
Any ideas? I really need to recover this mailbox.
Thanks in advance,
