Multiple Exchange Servers and Mailbox Login

I have 2 Exchange servers setup. I am using one as a front end to be exposed
to the internet with Groupshield Exchange on it. The other one contains all
the mailboxes on it. I have remote users with Windows CE devices and
Blackberries that retrieve their email remotely. Is there a way that they
can be routed to the front end server and still be able to logon to their
mailbox?? Or do I have to have their mailbox on the server that is exposed
to the internet??
