Hi Ricardo,

Based on the 7031 Event ID your store is encountering a Second Chance
Exception that it cannot handle and this is causing store to exit silently
(i.e Crash Hard). This type of issue is usually caused by 3rd party
software that integrates with Exchange causing us some problems. In order
to resolve this I recommend the following actions.

1) Make sure Exchange 2000 is up to the latest version.

Service Pack 3 for Exchange 2000 Server and Exchange 2000 Server Enterprise
Edition
http://www.microsoft.com/exchange/downloads/2000/sp3/default.mspx

Update Rollup for Exchange 2000 (KB870540)
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=363A57A4-8BED-4BBB-BBE4-ABC11AB04611&displaylang=en

2) Update any 3rd Party software you have that touches exchange to the
latest version of the software that is available.
A) Antivirus Software
B) Exchange Aware Backup Software
C) Archive Software

If you are still experiencing issues after updating all 3rd party software
remove each piece one at a time until the issue no longer reproduces itself.
Then you will have identified the problem software and can contact that
software vendor.

Your other option if you are unable to do any of this is to contact
Microsoft support. We can help you configure your system to take a memory
dump of store.exe when it crashes. Analysis of the dump will reveal what is
causing the problem.

Hope This Helps,

Matthew,

The Update Rollup of Exchange 2000's link seems to be the Exchange August
Post-SP3!!!

I believe MSFT had replaced the KB870540 with KB824282 September Post-SP3
already!!

Hope it helps,
J.H

Hi J.H

KB870540 is the August 2004 Rollup for Exchange 2000
KB824282 is the September 2003 Rollup for Exchange 2000

So 870540 with the 6603.1 version is the latest rollup bits available from
Microsoft.

Thank you for your concerns on this I know with them labeling them with
months it can get confusing at time. I know I have confused myself a number
of times with this.

Thanks,
