Does anyone know how to create an exception (i.e. change time, subject etc,
not a deleted occurrence) for a recurring appointment using WebDAV?

Each recurrence has a unique URL, which is calculated when you ask the
server for an expansion within a date range. Look for an expansion (using
the required date as a filter), then send your proppatch to the URL of the
instance you want to change, and Exchange will create an exception.

Lee,
thanks for your help. This works more or less. When I display the calendar
with the exception in Outlook all the occurences have a little paperclip (I
presume meaning there is an attachment to this appointment). Why?

How do I remove the exception again? If I just delete the exception the
exception is gone but also the instance. How do I convert the exception back
into an instance? I suppose I could delete the exception and then delete the
deleted exception in the master appointment.

It's a shame I could not find any documentation on the subject. Do you know
of any?

I don't know if you can get the instance back if you delete the exception.
ExchDAV is poorly documented in general, and things like exceptions even
more so. I found out most of what I know by trial and error, and still feel
like I know next to nothing about it. I have to admit that I'm glad it's
going soon.
