HTTP Error 401 401.1 Unauthorized: Logon Failed

Wonder if anyone can help me here at all. I have setup OWA(5.5) server in my
DMZ which accesses the Exch Server(5.5) on the LAN via the firewall. All was
working fine until i deleted the OWA server computer account from the
domain(NT4.0) through Server Manager. I want to do this for security
reasons, because if someones breaches the OWA server they then have access
to the domain. I get the following error when trying to access a mailbox now
though OWA:

HTTP Error 401

401.1 Unauthorized: Logon Failed

This error indicates that the credentials passed to the server do not match
the credentials required to log on to the server.

Please contact the Web server's administrator to verify that you have
permission to access the requested resource.

I thought putting the following line in the lmhosts file would solve the
problem:

128.137.137.5 dpfmw2k #PRE #DOM:DPFM #net group's DC

Surely i do not have to have a computer account in the domain to be able to
access the mailboxes???

The article below is spot on with the error that i get in my browser and the
error that is logged in the OWA server application log. I have given the
Everyone group "access this computer from the network" and "log on locally"
rights as you have to do right in the beginning anyway. I am also logging on
using <domain name>\<user name> (as i have always been) but this does not
work. Have any ideas?

I can however access the mailboxes by using Outlook client on the OWA server
itself, but not by using the web browser!
