Hi there,

There are Exchange 5.5 and Exchange 2k with two IMC on Exchange 5.5. As I
read, there should be a file called Queue.data in directory
\exchsrvr\imcdata.
But, there is no such file in my IMC server. The Internet mail flow seems
fine so far. Can anyone explain the requirement of Queue.dat?

Thanks,
Wensi

Did you try to restart the service ? See this section of
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=148727

The Queue.dat file can be safely renamed or deleted without fear of losing

mail. The IMC should start up correctly and then process mail normally.

The Queue.dat file contains administrative information about the status of

Internet mail queues and messages, both inbound and outbound. This file

does not contain the actual messages themselves. If this file is deleted or

renamed, Microsoft Exchange Server should rebuild or recreate the file.

Maybe someone moved it and left the old directory behind?

IMC has been restarted many times. There is no queue.dat created. I am
looking at right directory.

We have many outbound mails in the queue from adminstrator tool. But nothing
is to be seen in \IMCdata.

Thanks,
Wensi

Thats strange. Do you have an anti virus software that might be moving this
file ? are file extensions hidden in that folder?
