New install - exchangeserver.msi failed - Error Code 1605

Hi
I am trying to install Exchange on a system that it had been removed from
(see previous post about setup.exe not working for details).

I have now managed to get the gui going but now can only get as far as the
copying files stage before I this error code 1605. There is nothing on google
about this. I have tried running the setup.com from Exchange 2007 and Sp1
both with the same result. I assume there is something leftover from the
previous install that is getting in the way but I don't even know where to
start looking.

I don't really have the option to start from scratch on this server so any
help would be most appreciated.

Hi,

Did you check the installation log for details of this error??

A rebuild of the server would take you a couple of hours at most - how long
time will it take to troubleshoot this issue and will the issue keep
something on the server that will cause problems later?

The install log says the same thing, I posted it at the bottom of my orignal
post.

I could reinstall everything but this server is also our DC (I know not
recommended but we don't have a alot of options) so rebuilding is my last
last resort.
