If the object isn't a "hidden recipient", use Outlook and crete a new
message. Address it to in...@mycompany.com and enter Ctrl+K. The SMTP
address should be replaced by the Display Name.

Perhaps it belongs to another mailbox, a hidden recipient or a public
folder. Try typing in...@mycompany.com in the To: line of a mail
message. Does it resolve? If not, do an export of the GAL, including
hidden objects and search through the resultant csv file for the SMTP
address.
