I have a question about moving the exchange database files to a NAS device.
We have server with very limited storage with exchange databases stored on
E: drive.
Would this procedure work:

Stop Exchange services
Change drive letter of E: to something else - e.g. J:
Check database consistency
Map a drive E: to the NAS unit - verify permissions etc. are okay.
Copy exchange files from J: drive to E:
Re-start exchange - exhange looks at E: drive and sees the database files ??

TIA,
Brian

I would map a drive to the NAS and then run the Exchange Optimizer. This will
move all necessary files.

TIA,
Brian

thanks. i guess i could also just change the database paths in exchange.

with only around 20 users and medium usage of e-mail does anyone know if i
would have problems keeping the databases on mapped drives. Microsoft
recommend against this.

thanks again,
Brian.
