Hi,

I'd like to push my IT department into using internal NNTP newsgroups as a
means of communication within my company. I used this at a previous company
and it was quite effective.

This site states that Exchange (and IIS) support newsgroups (I assume this
means NNTP): http://www.newsreaders.com/win/servers.html

Can Exchange and/or IIS be configured to support NNTP? (if IIS supports it I
will set it up on my home server as a POC).

Finally, and I know this is an Exchange centric newsgroup, but if this would
be a "really bad idea", and you would suggest other software instead, please
let me know.

Thanks,
Scott

Exchange 2003 supports NNTP, but adoption was not high and it was dropped in
later versions.

Thanks for the reply Ed, much appreciated. I'll investigate non-Microsoft
options. I assume IIS does not support NNTP; I didn't see an option to
install it as a component when I installed IIS.
