Hi all,

2003 R2 Server with SP2, Exchange 2003.

OWA 2003 was configured to use SSL using our own Certificate Authority about
2 years ago. When you view the Certificate in IIS Properties in the
Directory Security Tab it states the certificate is going to expire in about
30 days time.

Can someone explain to me the best way to extend the certificate date for
another 2 years?

TIA

Greg

You don't extend a certificate. You use the same process as before to
get another one. It's done in IIS and actually has nothing to do with
OWA or Exchange; they just happen to use it once it's there. Google
for SelfCert and IIS and the IIS Resource Kit.

Just to confirm the steps:-

1. Create a Certificate Request in IIS Manager and save the Certificate
Request file somewhere.
2.Get the Pending Request accepted by our Certificate Authority and download
the Certificate and save it.
3. Append the new Certificate to the Default Website.

TIA

Hi Greg,

You can replace/renew your certificate with another one from your own Certificate Authority or use a third-party CA which is what I recommend. Here are some step-by-step instructions: http://enterpriseit.co/microsoft-exchange/renew-exchange-2003-ssl-certificate/

Best,

Chris
