I saw a post by Lee Derbyshire previously that allowed OWA 2007 to be
set as the default mailto client by altering the uglobal.js file.
Unfortunately, this tip doesnt seem to work on OWA 2010 even though I
understood them to be pretty similar.

Does anyone have any idea how to make this work on OWA 2010, or some
suggestions I can try.

Thanks.

It should be similar up to a point (because I expect the .js files are quite
different). What happens when you try it in OWA 2010?

Lee.

When I try in OWA 2010, in the uglobal.js file there is no text
"function window.onload()", so its not clear where to insert the
jscript you mentioned. I could try to email you the uglobal.js file if
you are interested in looking at it.

I have a virtual E2010 server here, so I just need to find time to look at
it, and update the article. But what happens if you try it without changing
the .js file? The .js modifications were just to remove the text 'mailto:'
which got appended to the address when you clicked on a mailto hyperlink.
Does the problem still exist in OWA 2010?

Hi Lee

Did you manage to find a solution to this issue?

I get this message after I follow the steps on your website: The mailbox you
requested couldn't be opened because no match was found for the address
"?ae=Item&a=New&t=IPM.Note&to=mailto:na...@company.org".
Make sure the address is spelled correctly. If the problem continues, please
contact your helpdesk.

If i remove the &to=%1 from the reg key, it will allow me to open a new mail
but obviously without the email address poppulated

Thanks
Joe

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi, I'm also having an issue with this, and I don't know if there are revised documents for OWA 2010 yet. The problem of "mailto:" appearing before the email address when using the %s still exists, and could certainly try the 2007 fix, but it sounds like that might not do it.

Any help would be extremely appreciated -- thanks!
