Is there a way to access the GAL from the desktop without opening Outlook
client?

What do you need to do with it?

I would like to just minimize the Address Book (AB) within Exchange/Outlook
(users like this format) to the desktop and close the Exchange/Outllook
client. But, when I do that, the AB closes as well. Users want to access
all the end user information within the AB, but not have to open the mail
client.

Can't be done unless you want to spend a little time with VB..You can write
a little app to get that info.

If you are running Exchange 5.X and have the LDAP interface running, you
could use a LDAP browser. Microsoft includes a LDAP browser with a number
of their products. Outlook Express (which seems to be installed with just
about every product) includes one that ties into the Find command. Goto the
Start button, select Find. If you have a People option, you have the LDAP
browser installed. You will have to start whatever program installed the
LDAP browser (most likely Outlook Express) and create a new LDAP service
that points to your Exchange server.

Good luck

George

If I have Public Folders (PF's) setup in the following format:

Extranet (Customers) - Top level folders available to the public, subfolders
restricted to certain customers based on NT account
Internet (World Wide Web) - Anonymous access
Intranet (Internal Network) - Secured and unavailable to the public

How to I give Customers access without setting up an NT account or making it
available to the Internet? Currently I think I would have to create an NT
account for them which opens up our network and isn't easily maintained.
Any ideas?

I have to email accounts.
I want to move messages (When I receive from different accounts) to
different folders. This option is available in outlook express. But I am
unable to find in Outlook98.

The option to move messages based on account isn't available in O98. The
best you can do is to scan the header for your address(es) and move messages
based on those.
