Hi Guys.

What are your opinions on running exchange 2010 on the same physical server
as
SQL 2005 is installed on. No Virtualisation. The roles for EXchange will be
Hub Transport/CAS and mailbox server. SQL 2005 will be used by SAGE 200
software.

We only have a 40 user network so its not as though we have 100s of
mailboxes.

Server will be an HP Proliant with 16 GB ram and 2X Intel® Xeon® E5520 (4
core, 2.26 GHz, 8MB cache) processors.

thanks

It's not recomended and it's one of the reasons virtualization is so
popular these days. Can't you Hyper-V that host?

I would not do it, simply as Mark said this is not recommended
configuration. I can see where you going with your question , the server
seems to be strong given / expected load you are thinking it would be fine
to do it. The bottom line is , when you move into un-recommended direction
if you do face with bad results, you have yourself to blame (-: due to your
own decision and not fallowing recommended implementation scenarios.

Will you have problems for sure ? who knows (-:

Good Luck,
ocd
