In previous versions of Exchange, it is a best practice to separate the
database from the logs on separate spindles. I have read that with Exchange
2010, if you are using a DAG that it is no longer a necessity to separate the
two. What is the Best Practice for configuring the DB sand Logs in a DAG in
2010?

Thanks

Depends. Naturally.
If you are using hardware VSS backups you need to separate them. If
you are using at least three copies and not doing backups you don't
have to separate them.
The best practice will come from the disk/platform vendor. What did
they say when you asked?

Adding to Marks comments.

Tran Log and Database on the same disk are recommended in JBOD scenarios -
this requires a DAG to have 3 members or more with 3 copies or more of each
database.
