Hello

We have just installed a 2nd Exchange 2003 server and now
have issues sending mails from it. A particular mailbox
can send from the 1st server but when moved across, gets
a 5.7.1 system is not configured to relay mail message
when sending externally. We can still receive externals
fine though.

I've checked the permissions and groups on both and they
seem to be the same.

I've turned on logging on the 2nd server for Transport
and get an event id 4007 - Message delivery failed to the
host (ip address) while delivering to to the remote
domain for the following reason: An SMTP protcol error
occoured. The SMTP verb which caused the error is RCPT.

Both exchange servers point to the same SMTP connector
which forwards to a smarthost.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

This is sender access denied error. Please check system privileges and
attributes for the mailbox and relay restrictions. If the mailbox is a DL
member also check your Distribution List permissions. Also make sure all
successfully authenticated computers are allowed to relay.
