Hello there,

I wonder if someone could help me?

I have been evaluating IMail for my hosting company to support (send and
receive) email for our clients. Although a good product its visual appeal as
not very good.

I was wondering if exchange supports mail for the internet. Is it a true
Internet email server ?

If anyone could possible point out the pros and cons of exchange I would be
most greatful. Does anyone know the price of Exchange server with any
necessary software that I need to accomplish what I need to do.? I have
tried searching the Microsoft site but couldn't find anything specific.

My email address is i...@malaga-it.com

Thanks in advance

Ian

Ian,

Exchange can do this, but the licensing costs will probably be prohibitive.
There is no consideration for ISP like licensing on exchange, so you would
need a CAL (client access license) for every mailbox of every customer.
Functionality wise it can probably do what you want, but I'd probably steer
you away from it. Unless you are trying to sell more of an "outsourcing"
solution for mail where the customers will have a good link to you and can
realise the benefits of the server side store, public folders, online
backups, etc.
