Is it possible to use an NT server as a mail server in a Mac
environment? If yes, what are the requirement for the Macintosh client
computers (hardware/software)? Don't we need a Mac version of Outlook
for the Mac machine? How do you set it up so that the Mac client can
have both interoffice mail and internet mail?

Hi,

Exchange Server will act as a normal pop3/smtp mail server, so you can
use any standard pop3 mail client on it for the Mac.

You can also use the Macintosh Outlook/Exchange client, although this
does not allow you to run an internet mail service, only exchange
server.

This is fine if internet mail is being handled by your exchange server,
but if you require a seperate pop3 service on your client aswell as the
exchange server option, you cannot use the Mac outlook client.

Hope this helps,

You can used a program like Eudora on the MacOS or Outlook Express and
setup the Exchange server for POP3 or IMAP

You can also setup OWA this is what a lot of people are doing because
Outlook for the MacOS is not so hot.
