test-exchange search fails on passive node with no paramater

if I run test-exchangesearch on the passive node I get "server could
not be found". If I use the -server <cluname> it works. If I run on
the active node with no parameter it works.

It used to work on passive without -server - not sure why it stopped.
Anyone help?
