Send on behalf of a distribution group, how?

Hi folks

I have a distribution group sup...@mycomp.com There are a number of
recipients in this group but I want to be able to allow some of them the
ability to send 'from' this group so the sender of the email is
sup...@mycomp.com.

As an admin I am able to do this fine but no matter what I do I cannot allow
non admin users this ability. On the public folder properties for support,
I've added the user in permissions for support and given them 'allow' all
including 'Send As'

When testing the email is bounced with the following error message:

"You do not have permission to send to this recipient. For assistance,
contact your system administrator"

Any ideas?

I forgot to add, I have added the names of the users in the 'Send on behalf',
'Grant this permission to:' box in Delivery Options on the support archove
Properties.

You need "Send As" ... not send on behalf of. Remove what you've set there.
Don't have both send on behalf of & send as.
Send As is set in the security tab, visible if you have advanced options
ticked in the menu.

I've done this but still no joy.

Not sure what to say. The error indicates the user does not have rights to
send as the address you're specifying. This definitely works; I do it all
the time. Are you sure you're granting the permissions to users with
mailboxes? Or, to mail-enabled security groups (presuming AD is in native
mode)?

Also note that the settings changes can take a while before they're in
effect.
