I am using IE8 on my lenovo SL400 laptop (running vista home premium). I use
outlook web access on IE8 to check my office emails. First I was unable to
compose, reply or forward an email because there was a red 'X' in the place
where text is to be entered. I searched the web for a solution and after
isntalling S/MIME the problem was resolved - I am not able to enter text.

But now I am unable to send any emails (new, reply of forward). As soon as I
click SEND, I get an error and internet explorer closes with the message that
DEP has closed the program. The error details are:

Does it help if you click the IE8 'compatibility mode' button when using
OWA?

Lee.

Hi Lee

I tried Compatibility Mode - no change - the problem still remains.

How about adding iexplorer.exe to the DEP exception list?

I have added iexplorer.exe to the DEP exception list. Unfortunatley there is
still no change. The problem remains as before.

Does it help if you turn DEP off? I'm hoping that this will not have to be
the permanent solution, but at least we'll know that there's no other
underlying problem (i.e. it doesn't crash in a different way).
