1. I am connected to an Exchange 2007 server, I have many Outlook
rules that automatically move emails from certain domains to sub-
folders with in my mailbox (not in PST). However when Outlook moves
the message a sync-conflict is created because the Exchange server had
also modified the item.
2. I have AVG anti-virus installed, as AVG scans a message is sets a
flag to indicate that the message has been scanned, again a sync-
conflict is created because the Exchange server has also modified the
item.
Is there anyone that knows what is causing this and how to resolve?
it would appear that 90% of the rules available in Outlook 2007 are
non-usable while connected to an Exchange server. Doesn't seem to
make sense to me.

Turn off AVG's mail scanning. It is very likely the problem. Your Exchange
server is configured to use good antivirus, one hopes - you don't want to be
scanning message on the client side. This would be true even for a POP
account and a PST file, btw.
And make sure that your client workstation is fully patched, for both
Windows and Office.
