We did test what is indicated in
http://www.slipstick.com/problems/repair2gbpst.htm
But it didn't fix the problem.
Is there a solution ?

Yes. Restore from backup. There's no way someone was storing 2GB worth
of important data somewhere without backing it up. If there isn't a
backup it obviously isn't important data, stop wasting time on it and
go have a pint.

There is a limit of 2GB on PST files. You should advertise this to your
users. MS have produced a patch that can remove that limit but it will only
work on PSTs below the 2GB limit.
Stop using PST files and get back to the mailbox. You will be able to
control the growth easier with limits.
