I could not find a way to preserve plain text messages with Exchange.
I send plain text messages to Exchange addresses via davmail that
talks EWS with Exchange. If I run Microsoft Office Outlook, I can see
my message shown in fixed font, but if I click another message and
click my plain text message, I see it changed to a proportional font.
If I save the message into an MSG file, I see that it contains an HTML
version of my plain text message. I believe Exchange automatically
generates HTML versions.

Is there a way to prevent Exchange from changing my plain text
messages I send to it? I would love to see my plain text messages in
Microsoft Office Outlook as plain text messages, not as HTML
messages. Particularly, plain text messages get rendered with a fixed
font and I need fixed font in code samples.

I saw a fiery debate over the automatic conversion by Exchange in this
group starting August 10, 2007, but it showed only a weak work-around
to me. I guess I can send messages with HTML pre-formatted
counterparts under the disguise of multipart/mixed MIME type of the
aggregate message.

(I did not understand the references to "force Exchange to keep the
message as the recieved 7bit MIME type" in the end of that thread).
