Shadow Copies on Exchange drives - why?

We have an Exchange 2003 server which is backed up using the Commvault
Exchange iDataAgent in VSS mode.

I noticed that the "Free Space" showing in My Computer doesn't tally
with the space the files on the store drive consume.

When I look at the drive properties, on the Shadow Copies tab I have
around 50gb of space on the store drive in the "Used" column shadow
copies comprising 30gb aginst the store and 20gb against the logs drive.

Shadow Copies is disabled/not scheduled etc. so nothing shows in the
"Shadow copies of selected volume" box for any drive.

I'm assuming the space is being taken up when the backup process creates
a shadow copy - now obviously I'll ask Commvault support, but does this
sound right? If so, how do I reclaim that space?

Cheers,
Paul
