This will get you POP3 access to any mail waiting for you on the server,
but it will not allow you to use calendar, contacts, etc. It will also
not allow you to send any email through the server.

I'm having the same problem. I can hook up with all the protocols
manually (IMAP, POP3, etc), but when I open Outlook 2000, it cannot find
the server through the internet. Need this accessibility for work
requirements, if at all possible. Authentication is set to use
virtually any, and the protocols allow permissions to all authenticated
user. Any ideas?

Does the Exchange server have a valid IP address? If so then you can
just
setup an Internet mail account in the outlook services and put in the IP
or
DNS name for the exchange server and then your username and password
that
you use and you should be good to go.
