The email address might have changed recently and it might not have
replicated to the email gateway. I work in a place with 94 Exchange sites
and sometimes it takes a few days to synchronize a change in an SMTP
address.

I can send email to Deb...@Focusls.com from my hotmail account but not from my
Exchange Server at work. If the email address had changed, I shouldn't be able
to send email to this account at all. It doesn't make any sense.

I'm running Exchange Server 5.5 SP4. I rebooted my Exchange Servers to see if
that would resolve the problem. It didn't. After I rebooted the servers and
tried to resend the email message to Deb...@Focusls.com, I received the same
error message. The following text: MSEXCH:IMS:FLA GOV:DBPR:BPRTLEX02 3902
(000B09AA) Host Unknown makes me believes that the problem lies with the Internet
Mail Service. What puzzles me is that I can send email from my hotmail account
to Deb...@Focusls.com. In addition, I can send email from my exchange server to
the following domains: hotmail.com, excite.com, insytecorp.com, yahoo.com,
pfsfhq.com, juno.com, linvatec.com, tecoenergy.com and jadiscorp.com. Any ideas
or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

This looks like a DNS problem.

Did this problem crop up after you upgraded to SP4? I've seen a lot of
messages on this NG relating to problems with SP 4.

Yes, this problem occured after we upgraded to SP4. I've also noticed in this
newsgroup, there are some companies using Exchange Server 2000 having the same
problem. I also discovered that our Exchange Server is on a spam list. Does
anyone know how to configure your exchange server in Exchange Administrator to
not be a spam portal? I went to the MAPS RSS website to have our exchange server
removed from the spam list. I'm hoping that this will resolve the problem. Often
of a sudden, today I can send email from my exchange server to
Deb...@Focusls.com. Whereas, yesterday I couldn't.
